Initial Visit
- There is no charge for the initial visit.
- The patient and their parents will meet with Dr. Brickman.
- A comprehensive clinical exam will be performed and a panorex x-ray may be taken to determine what type of treatment is necessary and all questions will be answered.
- If treatment is indicated, the cost of treatment will be determined to help the patient decide if they would like to begin treatment.
- If treatment is to begin, the necessary appointments will be scheduled. Almost all treatment will begin with a records appointment.
Records Appointment
- This appointment is used to evaluate and finalize the patient's treatment plan.
- X-rays, study models, and pictures will be taken as records of the patient and to evaluate the patient's needs throughout the treatment process.
Regular Appointments The appointment when you get your appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) usually takes from a half hour to one and a half hours. You'll then see us at regular intervals 6 to 8 weeks apart for an adjustment, which takes 15 minutes. Our regular office hours are Monday 7:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 7:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday hours are 8:00a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients, and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately. Cancel only if it is an emergency. It is difficult to reschedule you since most appointments are made 6 to 8 weeks in advance.

Payment & Office Policies
Cost
The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient's problems. You will be able to discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. We have payment plans to suit different budgets and will work with you. We also accept assignment from most insurance plans, and file the necessary papers to the insurance companies. Billing is done from out office so you will not have to deal with a thrid party. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable.
Fees
In an effort to keep orthodontic fees down while maintaining the highest level of professional care, we have established this financial policy:
- If full payment is made at the onset of treatment, we will offer a fee discount
- To fit your individual needs, financial arrangements can be made to extend your payments over a period of months.
- For your convenience, we accept payments by VISA and MASTERCARD. These types of payments can be made over the phone as well as in the office.
- All billing is done in-house.
Insurance
If you have insurance, we will help you to determine the coverage you have available. We ask that you assign your insurance benefit to us. The balance will be arranged for you to pay (see above). Professional care is provided to you, our patient, and not to an insurance company. Thus, the insurance company is responsible to the patient and the patient is responsible to the doctor. We will help in every way we can in filing your claim and handling insurance questions from our office on your behalf.
